Ryan Paulsen began his career with AB Chance Co. in 1991. Shortly thereafter, AB Chance was purchased by Hubbell Power Systems and Ryan spent the next 6 years with them in various Utility Sales roles, including responsibility for the IOU and Public Power markets in FL, TN, and VA. In 2000 Ryan joined ABB Inc. as a Territory Manager for Public Power Utilities in FL. In 2002 Ryan became the ABB Account Manager with sales responsibility for Progress Energy Florida and TECO. Ryan moved into Sales Management with ABB in 2011 and then later with Hitachi-ABB Power Grids where he spent 10 years with those companies in various leadership roles before joining Superior Power Products. Ryan’s area of coverage for SPP is FPL, Duke Energy, TECO, and the Public Power market in south and central FL.
Clay Cook began his working career with Brown Boveri Corporation in 1984. Shortly thereafter, BBC merged with ASEA to become ABB, where Clay spent the next 24 years in various capacities, including electrical drafting, QA, project engineering, marketing, and outside sales. Clay is a founding member of Superior Power Products and his area of coverage for SPP is the central and north Florida public power market. Clay serves as SPP’s Managing Partner.
Chris Crawford started in the electric utility industry in 1988 with a small independent distributor based in Atlanta, GA. That company was bought by Hughes Supply in 1996 and later became HD Supply. After 21 years as territory manager for North Georgia, Chris joined Superior Power Products in 2009. Chris is responsible for the public power market in Georgia and PowerSouth for all SPP lines. Chris serves as SPP’s Sales Manager.
Alberto Zayas started his professional career in 1995 with ABB Mexico as a project manager for medium voltage switchgear. In 1999 he was transferred to ABB in the US and spent the next 23+ years in different roles that include proposals, product management, marketing, and, right before joining SPP, 8+ years in account management. Alberto has extensive experience with medium and low voltage distribution equipment in Utility, OEM, and Industrial markets. Alberto manages SPP’s Industrial segment in Florida.
Jim Shipp began his career in the electric utility industry in 1981 at Alabama Power Co. He served in various positions for APCO over the next 18 years with most of his career focused on power distribution engineering and industrial marketing. Since he left APCO in 1999, Jim has been the founder and owner of several small businesses in the manufacturing and utility industries. Jim is responsible for Alabama Power Co, Mississippi Power Co, Alabama and Florida Panhandle Public Power, Substation Packagers, and distributors for all SPP lines. Jim is SPP’s Lead Account Manager for the Southern Company.
John Massey started in the electric utility industry in 1992 with Alabama Power as a distribution engineer. He served in various positions for Southern Company over the next 20 years with most of his career focused on wholesale power sales to other IOU and public power entities in the southeast. He left Georgia Power in 2012 to join Eaton Corporation and lead their LED lighting Energy Team and later served as VP Enterprise Accounts. John is responsible for the SPP relationship with Georgia Power and part of our Southern Company account management team. He is also involved in supporting a portion of the ABB ELIP public power channel effort in GA.
Mike Thayer has over 30 years of sales experience in the Electrical Wholesale Distribution industry. He has worked for various distributors with focus on low voltage control ABB LV products in the Carolinas and Mid Atlantic states before relocating to St Augustine Fl in 2005. He worked for Atlantic Controls and then Control Design covering accounts in eastern United States concentrating on ABB LV Product. He joined SPP in 2016 and supports the Power Generation and Industrial accounts throughout the Florida market.
Jackie Viscosi has been with SPP since 2017. Jackie serves as SPP’s Inside Sales Manager in addition to providing inside sales and customer service support for the Florida utility market, the Southern Company, and Substation Packagers. Born and raised in the Orlando area, Jackie has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCF. Jackie’s years of experience in customer service at Disney prior to joining the SPP team has been a great benefit to SPP and our customers.
Crystal Rouse recently began her career in the electric utility industry in 2017 and has been a member of the SPP team since 2018. Crystal comes to SPP with a background in management, corporate training and business consulting. She is responsible for providing inside sales and customer support and service for the Alabama and Georgia utility markets.
Ellen McGee began her career in the electric utility industry in 1987 with Florida Power Corporation (Duke Energy Florida). Serving various positions within Florida Power including Distribution Engineering, Operations and Planning Analyst and Sr. Financial Business Analyst, with the Outside Services Project Management Team building and maintaining Transmission Lines and Transmission Substation construction and maintenance for Florida Municipals and Cooperatives. Since 2006 Ellen had been working as a Product Specialist with HD Supply Utilities Distribution (Wesco Anixter) and Manager, Proposal Development throughout the US footprint. Ellen provides inside sales and customer support for the Alabama and Georgia utility markets.
